Preview: Crystal Palace vs. Ipswich Town

Palace vs. Ipswich

Two new managers face off at Selhurst Park on Tuesday with their clubs enduring contrasting fortunes at either end of the table.

Ian Holloway takes charge of Crystal Palace for the first time since leaving Blackpool for south London. He watched his new side overcome Blackburn on Saturday and now they host rock-bottom Ipswich.

The Tractor Boys are in a somewhat resurgent mood, however, following Mick McCarthy's first game in charge at Birmingham resulted in a first win in 13 attempts for the Suffolk outfit.

Palace will be confident of a win as they are unbeaten in 12, a run stretching back to the end of August, and are just a point off the top of the league.

Ipswich, meanwhile, are still four points from safety despite Saturday's win at St. Andrews.

Holloway is likely to continue with a winning XI that includes the division's second-top scorer Glenn Murray, while McCarthy could ring the changes after some of his loan players looked tired in the closing stages against Birmingham.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas could be in line for a recall to the starting lineup after missing out on Saturday.
