Crystal Palace lineup vs. Bournemouth: Predicted XI for Premier League battle as Adam Wharton returns

Wharton returns as two changes made: Predicted Palace XI vs. Bournemouth

Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner will likely consider a couple of alterations for Saturday's Premier League showdown with Bournemouth at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles return home on the back of a humiliating 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Newcastle United, and while their egos were bruised in midweek, they suffered no new proper injury blows.

As a result, Glasner is spoiled for choice, but Wednesday's result has the feel of a one-off shock rather than the start of a serious decline, so the bulk of the St James' Park starters should be retained.

Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze are indispensable in the Eagles' attack, but the tight turnaround may benefit Daichi Kamada's chances of forcing his way in over Ismaila Sarr from the first whistle.

Glasner is continuing to err on the side of caution with Adam Wharton, but the embryonic Englishman should now be given the green light to return to the engine room, most likely over Jefferson Lerma as Will Hughes continues in the middle of the pack.

However, Glasner's defensive setup should remain unchanged, as Marc Guehi seeks to atone for the own goal on Wednesday that saw him join Jamie Carragher in an unwanted club; he and the Liverpool legend are now the only two players to score own goals home and away against the same team in one Premier League season.

Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure (both knee) are still sidelined for Palace, but Glasner otherwise has everyone available to him.

Crystal Palace possible starting lineup: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell; Eze, Kamada; Mateta
