Crystal Palace predicted XI vs. Newcastle United: Possible starting lineup as Oliver Glasner receives Marc Guehi boost

Guehi boost for Glasner: How Palace could line up against Newcastle on Wednesday

Crystal Palace face Newcastle United on Wednesday in the Premier League, and boss Oliver Glasner has been boosted by the return of captain Marc Guehi following his red card against Brighton & Hove Albion on April 5.

The centre-back will come straight back into the starting lineup - taking Jefferson Lerma's place on the left of a back three - and he may be joined by Chris Richards and Maxence Lacroix.

Wing-backs Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell can be expected to feature on the right and left of the three centre-backs respectively considering they have regularly appeared in the backline.

Given that defensive midfielder Cheick Doucoure will not return to the pitch until early August due to a knee injury, Adam Wharton is likely to be partnered by Will Hughes in a double pivot.

Striker Eddie Nketiah was also dismissed against Brighton but having served his suspension against Manchester City on Saturday, he is available for selection once again.

However, considering the strong performances of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Nketiah may have to settle for a place on the bench, while Ismaila Sarr and Eberechi Eze could be tasked with be supporting Mateta.

Crystal Palace possible starting lineup: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta
