Pardew "very disappointed" with Palace

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has said that he is "very disappointed" with his side's defensive performance during their 5-4 defeat to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.

The Eagles fell to a sixth consecutive Premier League loss in thrilling fashion, conceding twice in stoppage time having earlier recovered from 3-1 down to lead 4-3 during a 35-minute spell that produced seven goals.

Palace have struggled to defend set pieces so far this season, and Pardew was once again bemoaning his side's organisation after they conceded four more goals from free kicks and corners in South Wales.

"It was an unbelievable game for us, set play goals, I think there were four of them, incredible really. It had a crazy feel to it, the second half. The referee gifted them the first goal, in terms of the decision, and it changed the momentum," he told BBC Sport.

"Then I thought Swansea did well and we were hanging on and then the game went into a period of madness of goals. Bad goals for them and bad goals for us. In the end, five bad goals for us and four for them. Very disappointed the way we defended, particularly the last two goals when we got ourselves in front.

"It's been a tough day for us because Connor Wickham looks like he's got a serious injury. Those seven minutes he was getting treatment proved costly for us. A really tough day for us. I feel for our fans as they were magnificent today. To come away with nothing is galling and there's nothing more I can say really."

Palace are now only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
