Ian Holloway: 'We deserved a point'

Holloway: 'We deserved a point'

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has claimed that his side deserved at least a point from their match against Leeds United this afternoon.

Palace saw their 14-match unbeaten streak, which included five wins from their last five games, ended by Neil Warnock's men, who also also ended their own seven-game winless streak with the victory.

Holloway praised the start that Leeds made, but believes that his side did enough to warrant a share of the spoils.

"You have to give Leeds credit," Holloway said. "They looked like the Leeds of old in the first 20 minutes by coming at us. We came through that period but didn't get the breaks.

"I thought we deserved at least a point and we did our supporters proud. Leeds got on the end of two things inside our box and scored two goals but there was a real scramble at the end and how the referee awarded Leeds a free kick to relieve the pressure I don't know.

"The crowd got them that free kick."

The result lifts Leeds up to 16th in the Championship table, while Palace drop from first to second.
