Ian Holloway defends misfiring striker Aaron Wilbraham.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has claimed that forward Aaron Wilbraham should not only be judged on his goals.

Wilbraham is likely to play in place the injured Glenn Murray's in the Championship playoff final, but has just one goal for the Eagles since signing for them in the summer.

However, Holloway has said that Wilbraham has been playing well despite not finding the net.

"His enthusiasm is bubbling over, he's waited as an understudy all season and now he has a new lease of life," Sky Sports News quotes Holloway as saying.

"His performance in the second leg at Brighton was fantastic. Unfortunately he didn't get a goal, but he'll be looking forward to it.

"I'm very proud of the way this season has gone for him, the way he keeps working. He's a fantastic professional and we are lucky to have him."

Palace face Watford in the playoff final on Monday.
