Dwight Gayle eyes Crystal Palace improvement

Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle calls on the team to "push on" next season following their 11th-placed finish in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle has called on the team to improve next season following their 11th-placed finish in the Premier League.

Gayle scored twice for the Eagles on Sunday as they wrapped up their campaign with a 2-2 draw at Fulham.

The 23-year-old now hopes that Palace can "push on" next season and climb higher up the table under the guidance of manager Tony Pulis.

"Obviously we would have liked to win the game as we were winning in the last minute but the most important thing this season was for us to stay up so it's been a very successful campaign and hopefully we can push on from here," Gayle told the club's official website.

"We believed we could stay up but obviously there was a little bit of nervousness in the back of your mind when we struggled early on but when Tony came in it gave us a confidence boost and that has helped massively."

Gayle's two goals against Fulham on Sunday saw him end the season with eight goals in 25 appearances.
