Crystal Palace striker Stephen Dobbie believes that his side's form at Selhurst Park will be "important" to their hopes of Premier League survival.

Crystal Palace striker Stephen Dobbie has admitted that his side's home form will be crucial to their Premier League survival.

The 30-year-old made his move to the Eagles from Brighton & Hove Albion permanent after spending last season on loan at Selhurst Park.

"You have to get on with the mission of staying in the Premier League," Dobbie told the South London Press.

"You go away on holiday but it gets to a point where you're just ready to go back to work. I just want to get started now. As soon as you see the first fixture, Tottenham at home, you get a little charge to be ready for that game.

"Obviously it's going to be a hard season. It's going to be so important when teams come to Selhurst Park because that is where you've got to look at most of your points coming from. But we're not frightened - it is more excitement."

Palace begin their Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur on August 17.
