Phil Alexander "delighted" by Crystal Palace opener

Crystal Palace chief executive Phil Alexander has revealed that he is "delighted" with the club's opening fixture for the upcoming Premier League season.

The Eagles, who are back in the top flight for the first time since 2005, will take on local rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park on August 17.

When asked what his reaction was to the fixtures announcement, Alexander told Sky Sports News: "Delighted. Great start, London derby, couldn't ask for more. Bring it on. The fans will be looking forward to this one."
