Colchester's Alex Newby extends Altrincham loan

"Alex Newby will remain on loan at Altrincham," read a statement from the club.

"The U's winger went to the National League side on loan in September, with the initial deal keeping him in the North West until the turn of the year.

"Newby will now stay with Altrincham until the end of January, (subject to the FA rubberstamping the deal), looking to maintain his form after scoring five goals in fifteen appearances.

"That could extend to twenty one matches for the 28-year-old, should he be involved in the next six fixtures for The Robins."
