Chicago Fire maintain playoff charge

The Fire maintain playoff charge
Mike Magee's penalty is enough for Chicago Fire to seal all three points against Toronto FC and keep their MLS playoff bid on course.

Chicago Fire have secured a nervy 1-0 win over Toronto FC to edge into the playoff spots with one game remaining in the MLS Eastern Conference.

The contest was decided when Mike Magee converted a penalty given when Jonathan Osorio handled inside the area in the 63rd minute at Toyota Park.

It was Magee's 20th goal of the season, tying him with Montreal Impact striker Marco Di Vaio in the race for the golden boot.

Frank Klopas's men have now won their last three games and are in fourth, one point ahead of New England Revolution and Houston Dynamo.

However, they face a tough final assignment away at possible divisional winners New York Red Bulls.

Meanwhile, the Canadian team have won one of their last 11 matches and are cut adrift in ninth place, although DC United are 10 points behind them.
