Jimmy Ryan has revealed his delight after signing a contract with League Two outfit Chesterfield.
The 24-year-old, who departed Scunthorpe United at the end of the season, has agreed a one-year deal at the Proact Stadium.
"I wanted to come here because I knew the staff and I knew the football that they wanted to play," he told the club's official website.
"I admired them when I played here with Accrington. The club sold itself because you just look around and you know it's going places so I wanted to be a part of that."
Ryan began his youth career at Liverpool.
