Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for West Ham United.
While Barkley has endured a stop-start campaign, the Englishman has recently returned from injury to make successive starts for the Blues.
However, his long-term future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain given the competition in the middle of the pitch.
According to The Mirror, the Hammers are keen to secure a loan deal for the playmaker, who has previously worked with David Moyes at Everton.
The Scot is eager to bring in a new central midfielder before the end of the January window as he bids to move West Ham up the Premier League table.
As it stands, Chelsea have little interest in entertaining any offers for the 26-year-old.
