Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel admits Chelsea are among the favourites to land his signature this summer.

Gregory van der Wiel has admitted it would be hard to resist an approach from Chelsea this summer.

Dutch defender van der Wiel has been linked with a host of top European clubs including Valencia and Bayern Munich but spoke of his admiration for the Champions League winners.

He told Sky Sports News: "I watch a lot of football. Chelsea didn't have the best season but they won the Champions League and that was a great performance."

When asked whether he would be tempted if Chelsea did make an approach, Van der Wiel replied: "Yeah of course, it would be a beautiful club.

"I haven't heard anything from my manager so it's just rumours I think. We'll see."

24-year-old van der Wiel will be hoping to star for Holland at Euro 2012 and continue to impress a growing list of clubs chasing his signature for next season.
