Chelsea to axe Fernando Torres in January if he doesn't improve?

Torres 'given month to improve'

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has reportedly been given a month to find form or face being sold in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after failing to recreate his scintillating form that convinced Blues owner Roman Abramovich to buy the Spaniard from Liverpool for £50m.

It is understood that the club are likely to offload Torres if they secure the signature of Brazilian striker Taison, according to The Express.

It was suggested that Rafael Benitez's arrival at the Bridge following the dismissal of manager Roberto Di Matteo was partly down to his ability to get the best out of Torres at Liverpool.
