Tottenham Hotspur planning Ashley Cole approach?

Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as surprise contenders to sign Chelsea defender Ashley Cole.

Cole, 33, revealed on Monday that he expects to leave the Blues when his contract expires next month.

Spurs are thought to be among a number of clubs who could make an approach for the ex-Arsenal full-back in the coming months, according to Goal.com.

Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with the former England international.

Cole joined Chelsea eight years ago following an eight-year spell with Arsenal.
