Ruben Loftus-Cheek completes his move from Chelsea to Serie A side AC Milan, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract to keep him at San Siro until 2027.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has completed his move from Chelsea to Serie A side AC Milan on a permanent deal.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at San Siro, keeping him at the club until 2027, for a fee thought to be worth around £13.7m.

The move sees Loftus-Cheek end his 19-year association with Chelsea, having joined the club as an eight-year-old and progressed through the ranks at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder made his senior debut for the Blues in 2014 but struggled to nail down a regular starting role in the team throughout his time in West London.

Loftus-Cheek made 25 Premier League appearances during Chelsea's tumultuous 2022-23 campaign - his most ever in a single season - but with his contract set to expire next summer the English outfit have decided to let him leave.

In total, Loftus-Cheek played 155 games for the Blues, helping them to two Premier League titles, one League Cup, one Club World Cup and one UEFA Super Cup in that time.

The 10-time England international also spent spells out on loan at Crystal Palace and Fulham, meaning that the move to Milan will see him play his club football outside London for the first time in his career.

Loftus-Cheek will link up with his former Chelsea teammates Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori at the Champions League semi-finalists.

The Englishman is AC Milan's second signing of the summer, after goalkeeper Marco Sportiello agreed a free transfer from Atalanta BC.

Loftus-Cheek's exit is the latest in a growing list of Chelsea departures already this summer, with Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, N'Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko having already left as part of Mauricio Pochettino's squad overhaul.
