Report: Chelsea bid for Basel's Mohamed Salah

Chelsea have made a bid of £11m for Basel winger Mohamed Salah, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claims that the Premier League giants made the offer his week just as talks between the Swiss club and Liverpool were reaching an advanced stage.

However, Basel want £16m for the 21-year-old Egypt international and will wait for either club to make an improved bid.

Liverpool are reportedly unwilling to pay more than £12m for Salah, who prefers the Reds to Chelsea because he believes that he will get to play more for Brendan Rodgers's side.

Salah joined Basel from El Mokawloon in 2012.
