Daniel Pappoe returns to Chelsea

Chelsea youngster Daniel Pappoe's loan spell with Colchester United is cut short by two months.

Chelsea defender Daniel Pappoe has returned to the club after his loan spell with Colchester United was brought to a premature end.

The 19-year-old had agreed to join the League One outfit until January, but struggled with injuries during his time there.

"I'd like to thank Dan for his time with us, as well as Chelsea for letting us have another of their talented youngsters," Colchester manger Joe Dunne told the club's official website.

"He was extremely unlucky with his injuries and it was best for all parties for him to return to Chelsea."

Pappoe, who has never made a senior appearance for Chelsea, managed just two substitute outings during his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
