West Ham United are reportedly ready to make an approach for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud.

Having been restricted to just three starts and four substitute outings this season, the 33-year-old is open to leaving Stamford Bridge in January.

While the likes of Crystal Palace and Inter Milan remain as potential destinations, it has been suggested that the France international's wage demands may prove to be an issue.

According to The Sun, newly-appointed Hammers boss David Moyes is hopeful that could let in the East London side as the Scot looks to make new signings after replacing Manuel Pellegrini.

With big-money summer arrival Sebastien Haller having only scored five times from 18 top-flight outings, bringing in competition for the frontman has been made a priority.

Giroud has just six months remaining on his contract, leaving open the possibility of a cut-price fee being agreed between the two clubs.
