Jose Mourinho: 'John Terry will be offered new contract'

Mourinho: 'Terry will get his contract'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that captain John Terry will be offered a new contract by the club.

The 34-year-old defender's current deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of the season.

Terry, who has won 15 major honours during his 17 years with the club, recently admitted that he wants to stay with the Blues.

While Chelsea have a policy of offering only 12-month extensions to players over the age of 30, Mourinho has revealed that the former England international will be given a new deal for next season.

"I can guarantee Terry will be a Chelsea player next season," the Portuguese told reporters. "No doubt he will get his contract."

Terry scored during Sunday's League Cup final as Chelsea defeated London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.
