Man City, Real Madrid 'interested in Reece James'

Chelsea defender Reece James has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester City and Real Madrid.

The right wing-back is regarded as an integral part of Thomas Tuchel's squad at Stamford Bridge, the academy graduate making a total of 100 appearances in the professional ranks.

However, sanctions placed on the Blues and owner Roman Abramovich have effectively left every player facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.

According to the Daily Mail, Man City and Real Madrid are monitoring the situation as they assess whether to try to take full advantage.

Both clubs may soon be in the market to acquire a new right-back, with City's Kyle Walker turning 32 years of age in May and Real potentially wanting an alternative to Lucas Vazquez at some stage.

Although James has a contract until 2025, it has been claimed that some Chelsea players 'may look for escape routes' from their existing deals.
