Liverpool allegedly intend to make an official approach for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner during the summer.

Liverpool are reportedly planning to make a bid for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner later in 2020.

Having scored 23 times for the Bundesliga outfit this season, Werner is naturally being linked with a future move to a bigger European club.

While Chelsea are said to be admirers, Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the Germany international.

According to James Pearce of The Athletic, the Merseyside giants intend to make an offer for the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window.

With Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah due to spend time at the Africa Cup of Nations midway through the campaign, Jurgen Klopp is expected to strengthen his attacking ranks.

Werner allegedly has a release clause in his contract with Leipzig.
