Real Madrid's Eden Hazard rules out Premier League return

Eden Hazard rules out Premier League return

Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard has claimed that a return to England is "out of the question" this summer.

With the Belgium international struggling to make his mark during two injury-hit seasons at the Bernabeu, Los Blancos are thought to be open to selling him this summer.

Hazard has been linked with a return to former club Chelsea in recent days, but the 30-year-old has quickly shot down any hopes of a reunion with the capital giants.

Speaking to reporters during a press conference with Belgium, Hazard said: "I have a three-year contract with Real Madrid, going back to England is out of the question.

"Everyone knows that my first two years were not good, so first I want to prove myself at Real Madrid. Certainly, I do not see myself leaving Madrid given the situation of the contract.

"I know myself and I know when I am in shape. If that is the case, I can give everything for Real next season. That is my plan."

Hazard managed four goals and one assist from 21 games in all competitions in the 2020-21 campaign, but he has only pulled on the white jersey 43 times since arriving at Real Madrid in 2019.
