Defender Andreas Christensen suggests that he is increasingly likely to sign a new long-term contract at Chelsea.

Andreas Christensen has revealed that he is optimistic about penning a new long-term contract at Chelsea.

Despite emerging as a key player under Thomas Tuchel during 2021, Christensen has under nine months remaining on his existing deal at Stamford Bridge.

However, discussions over fresh terms have been held in recent months, and the Denmark international has hinted that an announcement may not be far away.

Speaking to TV3 Sport, the 25-year-old said: "It's hard to say how things will end up.

"There is a lot of talk. I will not say too much, but I think it looks good. I am happy to be at Chelsea."

Christensen has made 27 appearances in all competitions since the arrival of Tuchel in January, a considerable improvement on the game time that he was receiving under Frank Lampard.
