Chelsea to lose Neymar to Real Madrid?

Chelsea are unlikely to top Real Madrid’s bid for Santos striker Neymar, reports say.

Chelsea are likely to miss out on signing Brazilian striker Neymar, according to reports.

Real Madrid are believed to be offering around €40m (£35m) for the player, who is thought to have a buy-out clause of €45m (£39.5m).

However, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is wary of outbidding the Spanish side, The Guardian suggests.

“If Chelsea will not pay €45m he will go to Real,” a source told the paper, adding that Ambramovich is unlikely to stump up this amount because “€45m is a lot for a boy of 19”.

The striker, whose current contract runs to 2015, is one of Stamford Bridge’s key targets this summer, the club having failed to acquire him last year.
