Chelsea target Porto left-back Alvaro Pereira

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing FC Porto full-back Alvaro Pereira.

Andre Villas-Boas, who is familiar with the 25-year-old from his time with the club, is prepared to offer €18m (£16m) plus an unnamed player to sign the Urguayan, according to Record.

However, a source close to the Portuguese outfit has denied any such offer has been made for the defender, who has a €30m (£26m) release clause.

While a number of clubs are understood to be interested in the former Cluj player, his agent has insisted that he is happy at the club.
