Chelsea 'line up Donny van de Beek move'

Chelsea reportedly join the race to sign 21-year-old Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, who has also been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea have reportedly identified Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek as a possible transfer target either in January or next summer.

The 21-year-old has established himself as an integral part of the Ajax first team in recent seasons and helped the Dutch outfit to a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

A number of clubs are understood to be tracking the progress of Van de Beek, and Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims that Chelsea have now joined his list of admirers.

The likes of Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in the Netherlands international, although Ajax are considered unlikely to sanction a sale until next summer at the earliest.

Van de Beek, whose current contract at Ajax does not expire until 2022, has scored three goals in 16 appearances for the club so far this season.
