Chelsea give up on Maicon

Chelsea have reportedly switched their attention to Marseille full-back Cesar Azpilicueta after ending their interest in Maicon.

The Blues were deterred in their attempts to lure the Inter Milan star to Stamford Bridge after Real Madrid declared their interest in signing the Brazilian.

However, Roberto Di Matteo now looks set to move for Azpilicueta, who is believed to be valued at around £7m.

The Spaniard, who is part of his country's squad for the Olympics, joined Les Phoceens from Osasuna in 2010.
