Chelsea eye £22m Luka Modric bid?

Chelsea are reportedly ready to renew their interest in Luka Modric by offering Real Madrid £22m for the Croatian midfielder.

Modric left the Premier League to sign for Madrid last summer but has struggled to force his way into Jose Mourinho's starting XI.

The Blues tried to land Modric during his time at Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to bankroll a summer bid, according to The Sun.

With Frank Lampard out of contract at the end of the season Chelsea have been linked with a host of options in central midfield.
