Chelsea lose Brazilian target Taison to Shakhtar Donetsk

Chelsea have missed out on the signing of Brazilian forward Taison after Shakhtar Donetsk confirmed the capture of the 24-year-old on their website.

Taison had been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but it is believed that Shakhtar triggered a release clause in the Metalist player's contract.

The Ukrainian club announced on their website that he had agreed a five-year contract at the Donbass Arena.

Reports had claimed that Taison began talks with Chelsea over a move at the beginning of the month.
