Everton boss Sam Allardyce: 'There have been no offers for Ross Barkley'

Everton boss Sam Allardyce insists that the club have not received any offers for midfielder Ross Barkley, whose contract expires in the summer.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has insisted that no discussions have been held over Ross Barkley's future at Goodison Park.

Barkley's contract with the Toffees expires at the end of the season, and the England international - who has not played all season due to a hamstring injury - has been linked with a transfer to Chelsea.

Allardyce has claimed that the club have received no offer from the West Londoners, but has indicated that he is unsure of Barkley's future plans.

The former England manager told reporters: "I'm not aware of a link with Chelsea. If and when that materialises then that discussion will happen between all parties to make the decision and the right decision for Everton going forward.

"If Ross isn't interested in staying - and I don't know if he is - then it would be sensible to consider offers but there is no offer on the table to consider.

"At the moment he is recovering from injury and I am more concerned with him getting fit and deal with it from there."

On Thursday, Everton announced that another three of the club's academy graduates - Jonjoe Kenny, Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin - had penned long-term deals with the Merseyside outfit.
