Nathan Ake joins Bournemouth on season-long loan

Bournemouth sign Nathan Ake, who spent last term at Watford, on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

Bournemouth have announced that they have completed the signing of Nathan Ake on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old joined the Chelsea academy from Feyenoord in 2011 but has been unable to force his way into the first team and spent last season on loan at Watford.

He made 32 appearances for the Hornets as they secured Premier League survival for the first time, and he will now spend the 2016-17 campaign at the Vitality Stadium.

"We are delighted to welcome Nathan to AFC Bournemouth," Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told the club's official website.

"For a player of his age he already has great experience in the Premier League and we believe he will bring a lot to our squad.

"He is an international player with great pedigree, so we are really excited to have him join us for the upcoming season."

Bournemouth will begin their 2016-17 campaign at home to Manchester United on August 13.
