Oriol Romeu thinks that victory over Manchester City on Monday will show doubters that Chelsea are still "fighting" for the Premier League title.

Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu believes that the Blues can prove their worth with a defeat against Manchester City this weekend.

The former Barcelona playmaker, who featured in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday, hopes that he can retain his spot in Andre Villas-Boas's side.

"It's a great chance to show everyone what we can do when we are playing well," The Mirror quotes Romeu as saying. "If we win [against Man City], it will prove that we are still fighting for the league.

"I do not want to isolate one major threat for City. They have a lot of good players going forward. They are playing very well."

The Blues will face Roberto Mancini's side on Monday, who were knocked out of the Champions League last night.
