Alan Pardew: 'Chelsea mentality has changed'

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew admits that Chelsea's mentality has changed under Guus Hiddink after the Blues ran out 3-0 winners at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has admitted that Chelsea deserved their 3-0 victory over his side at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

Pardew's one-year anniversary in charge of the club ended in disappointment as Guus Hiddink claimed the first win of his second spell in the Chelsea dugout, and the Blues' biggest victory of the season so far.

John Terry claimed that it was the Chelsea of old on show in the London derby, and Pardew agreed that there had been a change of mentality for the visitors.

"Chelsea were very good. A lot of their stars turned up. Their mentality has changed - you can see that," he told Sky Sports News.

"It is one of those games where we just wipe our nose and move onto the next game. We were not at our strongest today, we were missing key players and could not play our natural game.

"We will be looking at the market in case something comes through. It is important we kick into gear in the second half of the season. Things did not go our way today and we have to respond and I have every confidence in this group that we will be in and around the top 10."

The defeat means that Palace have now failed to score in their last three Premier League games.
