Jose Mourinho refuses to discuss penalty award

Jose Mourinho refuses to comment on Southampton's penalty award as they're held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho refused to be drawn into a penalty debate as his Chelsea side were held to a 1-1 draw with Southampton on Sunday.

Dusan Tadic cancelled out Diego Costa's opener from the penalty spot after Sadio Mane was brought down, but Mourinho decided against commenting on the decision.

He told BBC Sport: "My opinion is not important. For Chelsea, it would be impossible. Impossible to be given, and that is my view.

"We started well but the penalty changed the rest of the first half. We stopped playing and made some mistakes. When Ramires came on we killed their counter-attack and had complete control of the game.

"We had a lead of five points and now we have a lead of six points with one less game to play. I'm not happy with the result but I'm happy with the situation, the six-point lead."

Mourinho's men travel to Hull City next week.
