Jose Mourinho admits that "it was an early decision" to take charge of Chelsea for the second time.

Jose Mourinho has revealed that the decision to re-join Chelsea this summer took "a couple of minutes" for both parties to agree.

The former Real Madrid coach, who has signed a four-year contract, agreed to take charge of the club for a second time on Monday following talks with owner Roman Abramovich.

"I am very happy. I have to prepare myself to not be too emotional at my arrival. It was an easy decision. I met the owner and I think in five minutes, after a couple of very short, but pragmatic questions, we decided straight away," he told the club's official television channel.

"I asked the boss: 'Do you want me back?' He asked me: 'Do you want to come back?' After a couple of minutes the decision was made."

Speaking about his departure in 2007, Mourinho continued: "I think it was a difficult moment, for the club it was not easy. I think we get together again in a great moment for both. We are ready to marry again."

Mourinho will officially be unveiled to the media next Monday.
