Jose Mourinho blames wasteful finishing for Everton defeat

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is in no doubt that poor finishing cost his team three points against Everton this evening.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that wasteful finishing was to blame for his team's 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park.

Steven Naismith scored the only goal of the game as Everton recorded their first Premier League win under manager Roberto Martinez.

The West Londoners missed plenty of chances, especially in the first half, and the Portuguese boss was equitable in defeat.

When asked if his team could have won the three points, Mourinho told Sky Sports News: "Of course, of course.

"We played the best football. We had 21 shots and risked everything we could, and in that respect we didn't deserve to lose.

"But on the other side a team who has chances like that, some of them easy shots, and doesn't take them, deserves to lose."

It is the 50-year-old's first league defeat in his second spell in charge of the Blues.
