Chelsea winger Victor Moses has revealed that he was snubbed by former England boss Fabio Capello and as a result chose to play for Nigeria instead.

The 22-year-old played for every England age group from the from Under-16 to U-21 level but elected to play for Nigeria after they approached him.

Moses told The Mirror: "Stuart Pearce may have spoken to my agent about England, but he never spoke to me directly and Fabio Capello never spoke to me or showed any interest in me.

"Nigeria asked again and it just seemed like the right thing to do."

Moses has made 26 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season, scoring five goals.
