Romelu Lukaku wants talks with new coach over Chelsea future

Lukaku ready for bigger Chelsea role

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku believes that he has a point to prove at Chelsea next season and will seek assurances over his future with the new full-time manager.

Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht last August but failed to make an impact in his first season, making just one Premier League start. "I will need to talk to the coach about my future," Lukaku told the Daily Star. "I hope for a coach next year who gives chances to young players, not like last year. If he does not want to talk to me, then I'm considering a loan.

"But at the moment my focus is on Chelsea. I will go with them on summer tour and I hope to get some new chances. I think I deserved more chances at Chelsea. What I really need is three months to prove myself.

"I have become a better player though. I lost weight, I move a lot more on the field and I really think I have the ability to play for Chelsea."

Lukaku will be hoping that the departure of Didier Drogba will create more chances for the young Belgian to justify his £18m price tag next season.
