Chelsea captain John Terry has denied that he "snapped" and used racist language towards Anton Ferdinand at Loftus Road in October of last year.
The former England skipper was in court for the second day in succession today as a result of the incident with Ferdinand.
During the proceedings prosecutor Duncan Penny put it to Terry that he had reacted to taunts from Ferdinand over Terry's alleged affair with an ex-girlfriend of former teammate Wayne Bridge by using racist slurs.
Terry responded: "It was almost two years on and I had heard it a million times before. If I was going to snap, I would have snapped long before."
The 31-year-old will return to Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.
