Cesc Fabregas: 'Pedro brings extra dimension to Chelsea'

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that Pedro brings an added dimension to his side's play following his impressive debut against West Bromwich Albion.

Cesc Fabregas has suggested that Pedro has brought an extra dimension to Chelsea following his impressive debut performance against West Bromwich Albion.

The Spaniard signed for the Blues earlier this week in a deal worth £21.4m, and the 28-year-old made an instant impact for Jose Mourinho's men by scoring 20 minutes into his debut at The Hawthorns.

Pedro also provided an assist when he teed up Diego Costa for his strike as Chelsea managed to secure their first win of the campaign, and the winger has already earned the plaudits of Fabregas.

"[He was] fantastic. I knew straight away he would make an impact in this team because basically it was something that we didn't have in this team," he told reporters.

"It's basically a player that goes behind defenders, that can dribble, goes one against one. He goes behind defenders and stretches teams.

"On the side we have Diego and [Loic] Remy that do that but on the wings with Eden [Hazard] and Willian, they like the ball more at their feet. I knew straight away the mentality of this guy is fantastic and I'm very happy for him."

Chelsea moved up to ninth in the Premier League with their victory.
