Roberto Di Matteo believes that his "evolving" Chelsea side were in complete control during their 4-1 victory over Norwich.

Roberto Di Matteo believes that his Chelsea side are "evolving" after they moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 4-1 win over Norwich City this afternoon.

Grant Holt gave the Canaries a surprise lead, but the Blues replied with strikes from four different goalscorers, including Fernando Torres.

Di Matteo was pleased with Chelsea's performance, particularly considering the week they have had off the pitch, with John Terry and Ashley Cole making headlines for their part in the former's racism trial.

The Italian said: "We had to focus on the game. I always think a lot about my team selection and the way they (John Terry and Ashley Cole) behaved this week and trained gave me the reason to start with them.

"Norwich scored a good goal and it was important to equalise quickly. From there on it was a lot of Chelsea. The players just controlled the game.

"We can be happy about the performance. We are slowly evolving but on the other hand we don't concede too many goals."

Di Matteo has also confirmed that the club will take disciplinary action against Ashley Cole for his comments made about the FA on Twitter.
