Chelsea striker Diego Costa refuses to change combative play style

Chelsea hitman Diego Costa says that he will not change his combative style of play.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has declared that he will not alter his combative style of play despite serving a three-match ban for stamping on Liverpool's Emre Can.

The Spaniard is expected to make his return in the League Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, but he has refused to curb his aggression on the pitch.

"I'm not going to change my way of playing," he told reporters. "I do know now that I have to be a little bit more careful because it's not the same when I do something or when someone else does it.

"Something I do, it's talked about much more than another player. I have to be extra careful but I'm never going to change the way I play. That's what got me here, that's the way I play."

Costa has scored 17 times for Chelsea this season, but failed to find the net in four matches prior to his ban.
