Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says that former Blues manager Jose Mourinho deserves a warm reception when he returns to Stamford Bridge with Manchester United.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has called on the club's supporters to give Jose Mourinho a good reception when he returns to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Manchester United manager Mourinho will be making his first appearance in West London since being sacked by Chelsea in December, but despite a disappointing end to his tenure at the club, Conte wants to see his opposite number respected ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash.

The 47-year-old told reporters: "He won three championships here and was an important man to the club. I think he deserves a good reception because, I repeat, he wrote with the players and staff a part of the story of this club.

"He becomes, like the players of Man United, an enemy but only on the sporting aspect. I have great respect for him. I am sure that he is a great manager and he has won a lot in his career. He deserves great respect."

Chelsea currently sit two points clear of United in the Premier League table.
