Chelsea loan Traore to Vitesse

Chelsea have sent teenager Bertrand Traore to Vitesse Arnhem for the remainder of the season a day after signing the Burkina Faso midfielder.

The Blues agreed the purchase of the 18-year-old in October and he completed his move from Association Jeunes Espoirs De Bobo-Dioulasso to Stamford Bridge on the first day of the January transfer window.

Dutch outfit Vitesse, who are currently second in the Eredivisie, now have five Chelsea players on loan, with Traore joining Patrick van Aanholt, Christian Atsu, Lucas Piazon and Cristian Cuevas in being given the opportunity to develop their talent courtesy of more regular first-team football in the Netherlands.

Sam Hutchinson and Gael Kakuta were also on temporary spells at Arnhem this season, but both have been recalled by Chelsea having failed to make a league start, although Kakuta did score once in his 12 appearances off the bench.

Traore, who has signed a four-year deal in West London, made his international debut at 15 years old and made a substitute appearance for his country in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
