Chelsea claim that Roman Abramovich's meeting with Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is "normal".

Chelsea have calmed speculation over the surprise meeting between Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Reports claimed that the Russian billionaire set up talks with the Portuguese boss after visiting the Blues' Cobham training ground on Saturday, which sparked rumours over the future of Villas-Boas.

"Roman likes to get down to Cobham and watch training whenever he can," Sky Sports News quotes a club spokesman as saying.

"He was able to visit on Saturday and he and Andre had a good chat after the training session, which is normal."

The former Premier League champions sit 14 points adrift of leaders Manchester City in the table following a 3-3 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
