Chelsea have reportedly made plans to begin contract talks with full-back Ryan Bertrand.
The youngster started Chelsea's Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich earlier this month and it seems as though the 22-year-old has impressed enough to earn a new deal.
Bertrand signed a four-year contract last summer but the Daily Mail suggests that Chelsea are ready to reward a player who is seen as Ashley Cole's long-term replacement.
Newcastle United have been linked with Bertrand in recent months but an improvement in wages is expected to keep him at Stamford Bridge.
