Patrick Bamford admits to "frustrating" loan spell at Selhurst Park

Patrick Bamford reveals that he has a clause in his Crystal Palace loan deal to return to Chelsea in January, should the number of minutes he is afforded not increase.

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford has confessed that his lack of playing time on loan at Crystal Palace has left him feeling 'frustrated'.

The 22-year-old made the step up from Championship football to the Premier League in the summer, but has so far featured sparingly for the Eagles.

Bamford admits that being given restricted chances to prove himself on the big stage has taken its toll, but is confident that remaining at Selhurst Park is the right choice in the long term.

"I put in a six-month break clause in case things didn't work out," he is quoted as saying by The Sun. "That would be if the worst came to the worst because at the minute I'm there or thereabouts.

"It's not like I'm not involved. If that was the case I'd go back. But I've said I wouldn't give up and that is my mentality. If I'm honest, it's been frustrating. But I suppose I've got to stay positive and not quit."

Bamford, who has just 49 minutes of action under his belt this season, is in line to start against Liverpool this afternoon due to numerous injury problems.
