Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has admitted that the situation is "difficult" right now for him in regards to his contract with the club, which expires in summer.

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has admitted that he is in a "difficult" situation with the club.

The Danish international is out of contract with the club this summer, and despite negotiations between the two parties, there has been no agreement on a new deal.

Christensen has been linked with a move to Barcelona, which would bring an end to his time with the Blues, where he came through via the academy.

"Things can still be done. Being part of a winning team is all that I want to be as a football player. It is hard because all the talks between the club and my guys, I try to keep it away because I want to focus and it has not changed for me," he said.

"I go on the pitch every day not really thinking about it. I leave that to the club and my guys, and I can focus on playing football. I just focus on winning, really. It is a difficult situation."

Christensen did not feature in the EFL Cup final due to injury, but Chelsea will be back in action on Wednesday against Luton Town.
